LEAVING A LEGACY: TRIBUTE GIFTS
What is a tribute gift?
How do I arrange for memorial donations for a loved one?
A tribute gift is a gift given in memory or honor of someone special to the donor. A memorial gift commemorates a beloved friend or family member who has passed away and is a wonderful way to honor a loved one at the time of passing and for years to come. If there is someone who has gone above and beyond to assist your family, such as a special caregiver at the hospital, a physician, family member or friend, you may chose to make a gift in their honor. You may also choose to honor someone for a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary.
How do we know if someone makes a tribute gift in memory or honor of someone special?
At the request of the donor, Inheritance of Hope will send a notification to the family or individual honored by the gift. The value of the gift will not be disclosed.
How will my gift be used?
100% of your gift will support families attending a Legacy Retreat®.
The best way to encourage memorial donations is to include Inheritance of Hope in the service notices and request that gifts be made to the organization in lieu of flowers. (see back). If desired, we can provide a memorial donation brochure and make them available to the family for distribution.
Can I designate gifts to Inheritance of Hope in my will and estate plan?
Yes, you can include Inheritance of Hope in your estate and financial planning. Planned gifts may include bequests in a will, living trust, retirement plans, charitable gift annuity, real estate or life insurance. Inheritance of Hope also accepts gifts of stock and securities. Your accountant or financial advisor can assist you when considering these types of gifts.
